DESIGNING a website

Used Squarespace to design an up-and-coming home renovation company. Research on home renovation was necessary to ensure appeal to the correct audiences and demographic.

  • Have a website that was simple and focused on easy contact, showcase of work and outreach. Worked with a connection I had with a graphic designer to get the logo designed for the company.

  • Services and examples are easily portrayed for clients.

  • Constantly working with owner to ensure the website was up to their standard with content, style and organization of services. I created a spreadsheets to help organize feedback and approval of pages throughout the design.

  • Had to ensure all work was owned and published by the owner and if using previous work, permission was needed from previous employer prior to publishing on the website. If using work from another employee, accreditation was required.

rebranding a website

The application that our team worked with was Granicus to build a new website for a local community college that was modern and provided easy accessibility for students. Incorporating guided pathways was a new guideline from the state for student navigation.

  • Replacing all dated images and icons with more modern images that showcased WCC as a diversity, equitable and accessible campus. Remove all signage or wording of zoom, based on WCC policy of being a strictly in person campus.

  • Provide a clean layout students could visually encapsulate all information on a given screen without being redirected to multiple pages.

  • Guided pathways was the tool to setup the menu screen and the areas of studies so students could easily navigate what they wanted to do. I analyzed over 700 pages for faulty links, errors and false information throughout the website and made updates accordingly.

  • Constantly working with other departments and staff to ensure all information on the website was accurate and up-to-date. I created several spreadsheets to help organize feedback and approval from other departments.
